Saturday, October 9th, 2010 was yet another extraordinary house concert in the Seay household  proving the continual success of these uniquely personable "It is all about the music" events. If I dare say, this particular event appeared to be the largest house concert yet as an untold number of guests filled the kitchen, living room and even the hallways. With some of the most prestigious names in the music business on front and center stage it is not a wonder that so many were in attendance. Talented singer songwriter Steven Demetrious returned this weekend kicking off the evening with the open mic portion. Steven had already given an impressive performance the prior weekend, thus gaining the respect and support of all the house guests. This weekend was certainly no exception. Some more reason for the legitimate hype and crowded stage area just may be the fact that the incredible hit songwriters Tom Hambridge and Chuck Jones were delivering their hits while being accompanied by highly skilled guitarist, Stevie C. Whether these talents were singing heartfelt ballads, upbeat foot tapping numbers, or humorous light hearted tunes, all eyes remained on the performers as the depth and relative meaning of each song couldn't be denied.

As an ASCAP Award-winning, three- time Grammy Nominated Producer, Singer, Songwriter and Drummer, Tom Hambridge comes packed with a list of credentials that is nearly impossible to fit into one article. Likewise, Tom has far more hits than could ever be played in one concert setting. Having enjoyed over 200 songs cut by a wide range of artists, this active solo artist can even be found on many movie soundtracks including Disney's "Cars" and "Rattattoui." Tom is a true standout in the music industry as he is a uniquely, versatile multi-talented music professional that can successfully cover different genres and a broad array of numerous projects. You can hear Tom's recordings on the albums of Lynyrd Skynyrd, B.B. King, George Thorogood, Meat Loaf, Taylor Hicks, Gretchen Wilson, Rodney Atkins, Van Zant, Buddy Guy, Danny Gokey, Johnny Winter, Billy Ray Cyrus, NRBQ, Susan Tedeschi, Joe Nichols, Montgomery Gentry, Delbert McClinton, Keith Anderson, Jack Ingram, Pam Tillis, Jonny Lang, Pat Green, Chris Young, T. Graham Brown, Lee Roy Parnell and many more. Very notably Tom won a 2007 ASCAP Song Award for "Every time I Hear Your Name" recorded by Keith Anderson. In addition, he produced Buddy Guy's "Skin Deep" (2009 Blues Award Winner for "Album Of The Year" and "Contemporary Blues Album Of The Year." With all of that said, it may not come as a surprise that Tom is also the winner of 9 Boston Music Awards including (Drummer of the Year, Song of the Year "It Hurt So Bad," Song of the Year "Rock Me Right," Album Of the Year "Keep It Burning and Songwriter of the Year "Indian Sunrise."

With over 130 "cuts," numerous top 10 singles and many other chart topping songs on country and pop radio, Chuck Jones has proved himself to be one of Nashville's most prolific songwriters. Like Tom, it would be nearly impossible to fit all of Chuck's accomplishments into one article and certainly impossibl Gentry, Delbert McClinton, Keith Anderson, Jack Ingram, Pam Tillis, Jonny Lang, Pat Green, Chris Young, T. Graham Brown, Lee Roy Parnell and many more. Very notably Tom won a 2007 ASCAP Song Award for "Every time I Hear Your Name" recorded by Keith Anderson. With over 130 "cuts," numerous top 10 singles and many other chart topping songs on country and pop radio, Chuck Jones has proved himself to be one of Nashville's most prolific songwriters. Like Tom, it would be nearly impossible to fit all of Chuck's accomplishments into one article and certainly impossible to do so in one concert. Displaying the utmost diversity in his catalog, this songwriting professional has written for artists such as Patti Labelle, Ronnie Milsap, Shelby Lynne, Chris Ledoux, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Charlie Daniels, Deana Carter, Reba McEntire and Peter Cetera. Chuck very notably received his first #1 hit in 1994 when John Berry recorded his heart-warming ballad "Your Love Amazes Me." Not only did he enjoy his spot on the charts with this particular tune, he also "amazingly" won "Song Of The Year" from the Country Radio Music Awards and the Music City News Country Songwriter Awards. It wasn't long before Chuck was able to hold this prestigious spot once again as Diamond Rio took his song "Love A Little Stronger" to #1, while Billy Dean did the same with "It's What I Do." In 2000 Chuck started his own publishing company called Jonesin' For A Hit LLC which then resulted in cuts with Montgomery Gentry, Trace Adkins, Rascal Flatts, Jake Owen, and Randy Houser. Wide Open Music Group recently added Chuck to the roster as he signed a co-publishing deal with them. Signing with this new hot publishing company had led to cuts with Danny Gokey (American Idol), Shawn Mullins, and Jake Owen. The name Chuck Jones will certainly continue to appear on a wide range of albums and projects.

Sitting in with Tom and Chuck and doing a fabulous job of accompanying was talented, well noted Nashville guitarist Steve C. Steve who started playing guitar when he was just 10 years old has already had many priceless opportunities such as playing guitar for acts such as Shawn Tamp, Alison Moorer, Jeffrey Steele and Van Zant. In addition to playing guitar, Steve enjoys experiencing all that he can while taking the time for side projects. He says he says he likes to "jam with whoever he can, whenever he can." Sounds to me like there is a good chance to see Steve C out and about….As you just may be able to catch him playing guitar for one of your favorite artists.

With a superb track record of home entertainment and bringing us Nashville's most stellar names, it shouldn't come as a surprise that yet another successful house concert took place in the Seay household. With returners and new faces each week both as guests and entertainers, it appears that the Seay's are truly onto to something….and just getting started. The sky looks to be the limit as the continual entertainment not only meets but also exceeds expectations each week. Thankfully for the privileged guests, the entertainment has consistently resumed as the Nashville Songbirds gave an outstanding performance on Saturday, October 16th (article coming soon). Pearl Heart and guest James Slater will be playing on Saturday, November 6th. Be on the lookout as more event coverage will be heading your way!
